Trawick Fund

( SCROLL DOWN )

We support many local charities and causes but this particular foundation holds a special place in our hearts.

$189,763 has been raised so far... Help us Keep Going!

Ande Trawick was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS.) HLHS is a severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped.

CFSC founders Evans and Nikki Trawick were told of this birth defect during a 20 week ultrasound that was later confirmed by Dr. Piers Barker, Ande’s Duke Pediatric Cardiologist. After three open heart surgeries ranging from 10 days after birth to age 3, Ande has proven to us all that she is a resilient, vibrant, fighter.

Today, Ande is a typical little girl. She has a colorful personality, charismatic nature, is highly active, adores her big brother Jarrett, attends school, performs tap and ballet, and lives her little life to the fullest.

In the long-term, there is significant risk for progressive development of complications, such as heart failure, heart rhythm problems, protein-losing enteropathy, and liver congestion resulting in cirrhosis.

Together, the Trawicks and Dr. Barker have established The Trawick Pediatric Cardiology Research Fund. This fund helps further the research necessary for Ande and the thousands of children born each year with congenital heart defects.

CFSC founders Evans and Nikki Trawick established The Trawick Pediatric Cardiology Research Fund in 2018 to support pediatric cardiology research at Duke Children’s Hospital. Your generosity will help provide valuable research needed to improve the quality of care and treatment for their daughter Ande and the thousands of children affected each year.
